Web Development Services

General Information

The MITS Web Team oversees all campus web resources. This included web based applications, email services, the campus intranet and web site.

MITS gives support to any department requiring assistance to develop its web site. and these web sites will be hosted on the central campus web server. We also provide support to professional groups to which our academic staff may have affiliations, clubs and students' organizations, halls of residence, faculty members who require personal web sites, and to affiliate bodies whose work support the business of the University.

We require that the head of each department (or distinct group) identify an individual to serve as its 'web publisher'. We work with and coordinate through this individual and we train the individual to use the established templates for page presentation. All official
Responsibilities of the department's publisher include:

• Create / Review content
• Source content support material (e.g. pictures and other fill-ins)
• Assemble the content for publishing
• Edit for typographical errors, grammar and accuracy
• Complete the presentation
• On-going site upgrade and for information currency

In some specific cases involving general purpose “official” campus information, MITS executes most of the above functions to establish the pages .
